Coaching: Developing Organisational Talent: 5 Day Coaching Programme for CEOs/Senior Officers

Following the success of the North West Cross Sector Coaching Programme for Chief Executives, we are really pleased to offer the following programme. We hope that such an approach would enable the exploration of different cultures and working methods as well as providing the opportunity to explore partnership working across the sector. The programme is aimed at chief executives and senior officers who wish to develop their coaching skills and whilst there are a range of programmes available for senior managers, we developed this programme specifically for Senior Leaders to reflect the particular role they play in developing a coaching culture where people can thrive. We feel that developing the coaching skills of leaders in the North West is vital in supporting individual and organisational growth as we move forward through a turbulent economic climate and changing political landscape. The design of the programme includes a significant amount of coaching practice to enable participants to develop their skills but it also provides opportunities to be coached, offering valuable support to work through personal leadership issues and challenges. The feedback and learning from these sessions is often the most significant part of the programme for many as it leads to personal insights and discovery.

Aims:

• To provide an introduction to the theory and practice of coaching 
• To provide a secure foundation for participants to commence coaching in their work setting

Objectives: Upon completion of the course participants will:

• Understand key coaching concepts and models 
• Understand the application of coaching in the work setting 
• Understand professional and ethical issues relevant to coaching in the work setting 
• Develop confidence and experience of coaching Teaching and Learning methods: The workshops will be delivered through a variety of means including:
• Tutor inputs on key ideas 
• Small and large group discussion 
• Tutor demonstration of coaching 
• Coaching practice sessions, with peer and tutor feedback 
• Experiential exercises 
• Peer learning groups
