Whether you're an experienced chair or newly elected, this course will benefit those who wish to improve the skills required to chair meetings with greater effectiveness and understanding.  You will learn various tips and techniques that can be used to enhance your performance as chair of the meeting. 

On the course you will gain an understanding of the reasons that make meetings ineffective, recognise areas for improvement and discuss the types of behaviour that people apply during meetings and how this can affect meetings.  There will be an appreciation of the interventions that can be used to deal with problems and demonstrate how they can be used.  You will  learn a number of tools and techniques that can make meetings more productive.

Who should attend: Chairs and vice-chairs who wish to brush up on their skills. This course would also be suitable as an induction module for new councillors.
