Facing the Audience: Delivering Your Message

The session acquaints councillors with fundamental public speaking techniques and participants are advised of the strengths and weaknesses of their current presentation style.
On this course you will learn how to sight-read ensuring eye contact with the audience; know how to perform a full vocal warm up and be made aware of your body and how to adopt appropriate gestures to emphasise meaning. You will practice how to stress words effectively so that the audience derides greater meaning from them. You will be taught various professional techniques and will undertake exercises in order to put your newly acquired skills into practice.
