Are you responsible for the gypsy traveller communities in your council? If so, this course will give participants an understanding of the legislative processes in relation to this community.
By the end of the course you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the cultural issues surrounding gypsy travellers and explain the difficulties encountered by their communities in finding lawful sites. You will be able to demonstrate what police powers may be called upon in relation to gypsy traveller encampment issues and understand the benefit of a multi-agency approach to gypsy travellers.
