As a councillor you will handle a plethora of information on a daily basis and this course will help you face the challenges of the information technology age. It will provide a practical introduction to techniques for improving effectiveness with information handling.

Impact/outcomes 

The course will consider the challenges of information handling within modern local government and explore the various strategies, tools and techniques for the better handling of complex information in whatever form.  You will discuss the cognitive activities and resources involved in information processing and identify and practice skills required to improve effective information handling.
