Event details: For councillors to examine their work and contribute to making overview and scrutiny effective by using a process for scoping and planning and by adopting an appropriate style of working.
Further details: On the course you discuss ways of determining the work of overview and scrutiny, develop a workplan and practise a process for scoping overview and scrutiny enquiries. You will look at the potential for different ways of working to enhance its effectiveness and use its limited resources more effectively by considering techniques for collecting and managing information and keeping on track. You will also establish a process to evaluate the impact of overview and scrutiny in your authority.
