Event details: The Duty to Involve calls on all authorities to communicate and empower all those who they represent in their communities. But what do you do if the very people you need to reach are unreachable or not even interested!
Further details: The course will consider practical strategies for engaging these groups at a locality and authority level and identify the opportunities and resources that are available to councillors to achieve their aim. We ask that you come prepared with your experience, problems and opinions. You will be presented with some of the current thinking, key ideas and questions to be answered. Please be interested and willing to match our circumstances with other councillors to find practical solutions you can apply locally.
This event will be facilitated by Bill Malley an expert practitioner who has worked in and with a wide range of communities and statutory agencies. His experience includes working for local urban and rural authorities at neighbourhood and authority levels as a community activist and is a tutor on the Community Leadership module of the IDEA Leadership Academy.
