Event details: Issues confronting councillors working in regeneration and/or partnerships are often struck by the lack of speedy progress. Sometimes this is caused by a lack of contact between strategic thinking and partnership working and what's happening on the ground with frontline workers, communities and councillors.
This session will explore the reasons behind that lack of progress by using councillors' own experience to highlight ways of speeding things up and it will look at why top level buy-in and ground level enthusiasm do not always result in action. With the use of case studies it will illustrate the core points of high level buy-in and on the ground delivery. It will be activity based, giving all councillors ample opportunity to share ideas with others and develop ideas together.
Further details: You will take away a clearer understanding of barriers to progress; a toolkit of ideas to help you speed things up in your own areas; and have access to case studies of where this has happened to use as exemplars of managing change in a complex environment.
