Event details: The effects of our actions, or lack of them, on climate change is constantly in the news, whether it be large scale or small scale. Therefore, this course will provide information on the types of renewable energy installations planning committees are increasing required to make decisions on, and how to assess them.
Further details: The course will focus on the role of small-scale renewable energy in regional and national strategies; area-wide energy planning; renewable energy to meet new building standards - Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM; small-scale renewable energy technologies (e.g. solar thermal, solar PV, wind turbines, wood-fired boilers, ground-source heat pumps, district heating, combined heat & power); planning issues for different sites; and implementation and cost issues.
