Equality Act – introduction to new Act for HR Professionals

Event details: North West Employers and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) are jointly hosting a workshop for North West HR professionals to update you about the new Act. This new piece of legislation, and the forthcoming public duties, contains provisions on recruitment, workforce monitoring and target setting. The workshop will be one of the first opportunities for HR officers to hear from the EHRC about some of the main changes contained in the new legislation. It will also introduce you to the EHRC's ‘training in a box' module, which you will be enable you to use to train and brief others in your authority about the new Act.

Event outcomes

· To introduce you to the main provisions in the Equality Act, particularly those relating to workforce issues

· Help authorities to plan for future changes, and ensure that they are legally compliant

· Develop a train the trainer approach to enable you to introduce others to the Act
