A) Interview Skills - practical group coaching

Objectives

  • To understand modern interview techniques including competency based behavioural event interviewing
  • To improve confidence in both anticipating and formulating answers to interview questions and in using effective voice and personal presentation skills
  • To improve techniques in matching specific experience from the CV to tailored interview questions through mock interviews

Outcomes

Participants will:

  • Feel better prepared for interviews and have increased confidence in handling interview questions
  • Be able to write an interview plan and checklist for each job they apply for
  • Recognise the importance of analysing their interview performance and seeking feedback after interview

B) Assessment centre preparation and practice

Objectives

  • To increase awareness of the use and types of assessment centre as part of the selection procedure.
  • To provide the opportunity to practise participating in assessment centre exercises, for example group, one-to-one, presentation & written
  • To give feedback to participants on where improvements would help their chances of success

Outcomes

Participants will:

  • Increase their confidence in taking part in assessment centre exercises
  • Understand what assessors will be looking for and how they as participants can demonstrate their ability
  • Be able to complete a personalised assessment centre plan and checklist
