Event details: To enable delegates to understand their role in the attendance management process and develop and practice the key skills they need to be effective in this role. Formal delivery will be kept to a minimum with the emphasis being placed on group discussion and skills practice.

Further details: By the end of the session delegates will be able to:

  • Understand their responsibility for encouraging attendance and dealing with absence 
  • Manage short and long term sickness using local procedures 
  • Effectively interview employees in a variety of situations, namely the return to work interview, the home / welfare visit and the formal meeting to warn about poor attendance 
  • Assess the next steps to take if targets set at these interventions are not met

Who should attend: All managers and supervisors, and HR staff who advise them on this issue.
