Increasingly authorities are recognising the value of having people inside the organisation who are able to advise and support service managers and teams in these turbulent times.
We have designed a successful 3 day course to help develop such people to act in a internal consultancy role. The course is for anyone who does "consulting", even if you're not called a consultant! You are consulting anytime you are trying to change or improve a situation but have no direct control over the implementation.
The course covers the use of a framework or cycle for consultancy, provides hands on opportunities for trying new tools and techniques and most importantly explores the crucial nature of "authenticity" and ways to manage yourself that maximises your potential usefulness to others in a consultancy role. In addition the course includes sessions on resistance and how to overcome it, emotional intelligence and its importance in rapport building and the need to understand organisational culture for successful change interventions.
Impact/Outcomes:
Feedback from a recent programme demonstrates that participants found the experience very worthwhile. Comments included:
"A very well delivered programme that met all my needs and will prove invaluable as my team develops its service provision to our clients."
"This course has been exceptionally informative, in a practical and realistic way, to change the way I work."
"Good course in an area I am moving into. I enjoyed the exercises and learnt a lot around consultancy."
Who Should attend:
HR OD Staff or anyone who is trying to change or improve a situation but has no direct control over the implementation.
