Regional Development Committee

The committee is responsible for the North West Councillor Development Strategy and shaping key regional initiatives on councillor development. Councillors appointed to the committee undertake assessment visits to local authorities that apply for the North West Charter for Member Development.

The committee approves all submissions for the Member Development Charter, charter status reviews and Level 2 charter applications.

The committee has a role in shaping North West Employers' regional skills strategy and a key activity for the committee will be promoting the North West Skills Award.

Membership of the Regional Development Committee comprises of twelve elected councillors and one member of the Executive Board, as follows:
