NW Strategic Scrutiny Network (formerly the Chairs of O&S Network)
We host a vibrant and established network for councillors dedicated to scrutiny at a strategic level. This network is a must for all scrutiny chairs, scrutiny vice chairs and experienced scrutiny members. Click here to find out more.

Scrutiny Learning Opportunities
We are experiencing significant changes in local government with scrutiny role becoming increasingly significant in ensuring that partnership arrangements are effective and that local employment receives attention.

With funding from the NWIEP and the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) 2 learning opportunities for scrutiny councillors will be available:

• Scrutiny of Partnerships
• Scrutiny of Worklessness

Scrutiny of Partnerships will be an on-line learning resource posted on the Resources for Councillors pages via The Learning Zone.

Scrutiny of Worklessness will be delivered over 2 workshops in 2010. Further details will be posted on the course calendar.
