Developing and Sharing Skills

We provide a regional service to support individual authorities. There is a huge variation in authorities in the North West in terms of size and culture which has helped shape the services we offer.

Our unique position in the regional local government landscape means we are regularly asked to provide or broker events for authorities' very specific and diverse needs.

About 80% of our work is delivered in individual authorities and we believe this sharpens our practice and creates an understanding of the issues authorities face and how this impacts on their day to day work.

We also work with a collection of authorities and across the region to bring opportunities for joint learning and exchange of ideas and solutions.

We have been working to develop the capacity of local authorities in key skills such as action learning and coaching to reinvest back in to the region and support cross authority working.
