Barely a day goes by without something in the news about the Government's proposed health reforms.  It's certainly one of the hot topics of the moment!

North West Employers is delighted to announce that we will be hosting "The Changing Role of Local Government in Public Health" conference.  This conference will follow on from the highly successful 2011 conference: The New Role of Local Government in Public Health.  We've secured a top-notch range of national and local speakers for this timely, FREE conference:

  • Dr Ruth Hussey (OBE) - Director of Public Health, Public Health England Transition Team
  • Anita Marsland - Transition Managing Director, Public Health England
  • Dr Ann Hoskins - Interim Regional Director, Public Health for the North West
  • Tim Gilling - Executive Director, The Centre for Public Scrutiny
  • Cllr. Roz Gladden - Deputy Leader, Liverpool City Council and Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care
  • Frank Atherton - Director of Public Health, NHS North Lancashire
  • Dr Mark Spencer - A GP at Mount View Practice, Fleetwood

We will also be hearing from GPs, Chief Executives and Directors of Public Health about the transition, the challenges and opportunities it brings.

Integration, collaboration and partnership working are at the heart of the new public health system, so we're hoping to attract a wide audience drawn from all sectors, as well as elected members and officers from local authorities, NHS, public health colleagues, GPs and representatives from the voluntary sector.

It promises to be an interesting and informative day with lots of opportunities for delegates to ask questions and share examples of good practice.  Demand for places is sure to be high; so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Who should attend?

  • Elected members
  • Chief Executives
  • Directors of Public Health
  • GPs
  • Voluntary Sector
