The Localism Act makes sweeping changes to local government's powers and to Councils' ability to deliver what really matters to local communities. It also makes sweeping changes to the powers local groups can exercise in their communities. It has the potential to fundamentally change the relationship between a council and its citizens. Understandably, it has divided opinion - welcomed by some as an opportunity for local government to show what it's capable of, viewed with suspicion by others as potentially undermining the very foundations of local democratic accountability.

We're proud to announce that we've got two fantastic speakers for this innovative half-day on-line conference - Ben Page, Chief Executive of Ipsos MORI and Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Arts. Both Ben and Matthew have strong views on localism, and we're sure they'll engender a lively debate.

This will be our first online conference and we'll be using the region's online communications platform - NorthWest Connex - to deliver the event.

The event is open to all public sector employees across the North West. Whilst places are free, they are limited. Book your place now.
