Councillors and officers who are interested in how the Localism Act and other events have changed the role of the local councillor in recent years.

This interactive session will look at the changing role of the councillor, both internally (within groups and the council) and externally (the community and partnerships etc), with a focus on how councillors can, even if not on the Executive, best exert influence to get the best deal possible for the communities they represent. The session will build on the experience of councillors and aim to develop their skills and confidence in this challenging, and vitally important work.
