This half day seminar will enable councillors to consider the implications of the requirement of the Localism Act 2011 to prepare a pay policy statement (PPS) with regard to decision making, governance and public sector pay transparency.
The session will cover:
- The role and potential of remuneration committees - constitution, advisory/decision making options
- The role of committees/advisory working panels/scrutiny panels
- Well informed decision making - senior management job evaluation, pay benchmarking
- Meeting transparency expectations
- Managing challenges against the PPS itself or compliance with it
There will also be input from colleagues from the LGA at the seminar.
