About this event:
This event will be of interest to new female elected members, and for those who have been serving for longer. We recognise that people value listening to the experiences of others and are more than willing to share their own knowledge and experiences. This is the second event for women members we have held recently, and it is an important development and support opportunity. It is an opportunity to:
Share experiences with other councillors in the North West.
Discuss the challenges and opportunities for women members.
Hear about important regional research in connection with women and leadership.
Develop personal action plans for improvement.

North West Women and Work Taskforce 2011, key findings about the barriers to women entering higher levels of leadership – Jo Somerset, Infrastructure.
Making a difference - the import contribution women can make to public life – Cllr Val Slater, Cabinet Member, Bradford City Council.
Learning from each other – sharing exchange.
