The Localism Act Chapter 8 refers to ‘Pay Accountability’ and sets out the requirements for councils and fire and rescue authorities to determine and publish annual pay policy statements. The first pay policy statement must be approved by the authority before the start of the financial year 2012/13. This workshop will provide the opportunity to;
- Collectively review any questions of interpretation of the requirements of the act and associated statutory guidance
- Share ideas and approaches that authorities have developed
- Share development effort through joint work
- Share information from parallel work in other regions

Please come to the workshop with information on your authority’s progress to date in preparing the pay policy statement. Templates, formats and presentation ideas would be very useful and we would look to circulate preferred examples after the workshop.
