 Celebration Awards - Group

Whilst it would be easy to see celebration as a ‘nice to do' in the current climate, the North West Awards Celebration Event sought to underline just how much the award winners had focused on doing things differently with less resources.

This year's award ceremony merged together what have previously been three separate events, celebrating:

Although the initial reason for the merger may have stemmed from an effort to be pragmatic in the current financial climate, combining the awards did manage to emphasise what they all have in common, namely, an aspiration to make the North West better for the people that live there.

In addition to the award presentations, there was an input by Damian Hughes from LiquidThinker Ltd, who ran a session on using creative thinking to unlock potential, which explored how leaders can deal effectively with change in the workplace.  There was also a stunning musical interlude courtesy of the St Andrews Church of England Primary School Choir from Preston.

All in all then, a fantastic day in Salford which highlighted the generosity and supportiveness of peer-learning and provided a great example of sector-led improvement in action.  The importance of celebrating success and helping public sector organisations share practice is something to which North West Employers remains committed. We are very keen to point and shout loudly when we see great things happening!
