North West Employers' Big Society Conference, supported by the North West Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (NWIEP), brought together 90 representatives from the local government, housing and voluntary sectors to discuss and debate the challenges and opportunities presented by this new policy initiative. The conference also hosted a live blog which enabled an additional 90 people to keep track of the event from their bases, saving approximately £11,5k in time and travel costs and around 550kg of carbon emissions.
Quotes from conference delegates:
Some of the best speakers I've heard in a long time; buzzing with ideas and challenges!
Bernadette Hayes, Bury Council.
NW Employers' conferences are always useful. Liked how you weren't afraid to have a mixture of views represented.
Catriona Povey, First Choice Homes, Oldham.
