The Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) provides a national salary framework and conditions of service handbook for local authority chief executives.

This handbook contains important provisions such as;

• a model Disciplinary Procedure [NB: also applies to S151 and Monitoring Officers]
• JNC Guidance for Designated Independent Persons (Dip)
• A model Grievance Procedure

The handbook, updates and circulars relating to the agreement are held together on the Local Government Employers (LGE) website and all local authorities can register for access to the information.
