Preventing and Resolving Disputes

North West Employers' Human Resource Committee constitutes the Employers' side of the North West Regional Council for Local Government Services. The Trade Union side comprises representatives from UNISON, GMB and Unite.

Among the Joint Regional Council's functions are to support and encourage:

• A flexible approach to providing services to the community, which meets the needs of employees as well as employers
• Stable industrial relations and negotiation and consultation between local authority employers and recognised 'trades unions'
• The development of employees to meet the mutual aspirations of both employee and employer, recognising future changes in the working environment
