Equality Framework

The Equality Framework for Local Government (EFLG) has replaced the Equality Standard model. This now sets out five areas of performance:

  • Knowing your communities and equality mapping
  • Place shaping, leadership, partnership and organisational commitment
  • Community engagement and satisfaction
  • Responsive services and customer care
  • A modern and diverse workforce

An authority's progress against these areas can be recognised at three achievement levels; developing, achieving and excellent.

Michael Keating, the Local Government Improvement National Equality and Cohesion Advisor, came to speak to the NW Employers Equality Network on the 6th July and gave a presentation for an update on national thinking on equality.
