Overview
This session will provide an introduction to behavioural-based principles and how they may be applied within a HR and OD field. Evidence supporting a behavioural-based approach will be presented along with key psychological theories that underpin behavioural-based practice.

- Define behavioural science and a behavioural-based approach.
- Highlight the importance of a behaviour-based approach.
- Trace the social and evolutionary events that have contributed to evolutionary mismatch in modern society and workplaces.
- Introduce brain and behavioural- based models.
- Discuss the contemporary environment and the emotional and psychological threats and rewards within it.
- Introduce two systems of thought and how they impact on behaviour in the workplace.
- Highlight thought and perception biases.
- Introduce SCARF model
- Begin to plan how you may implement behavioural approaches in your workplace.
