Overview
This session will introduce the concept and principles of evidence-based practice and discuss why being evidence-based and data informed is vital in todays complex environment. You will learn what good evidence looks like and how to apply an evidence-based process to evaluating and reviewing evidence. Many of the biases and myths that exist within data and research will also be displayed to support a more balanced and objective approach to engaging with evidence.

- Introduce the concept of evidence-based learning and organisational development/HR.
- Define what an evidenced-based approach is and why it is important.
- Provide examples of when a lack of evidence-based approach has resulted in undesirable outcomes.
- Highlight key forms of evidence that should be used within an evidence-based approach.
- Introduce CIPD’s process for evidence-based practice.
- Discuss the application of critically appraised topics and rapid evidence assessments.
