L5 Coaching Professional apprenticeship (L5CP)

The Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship is designed for existing or aspiring
coaches who work with individuals and teams, with the intention of empowering them to
enhance their professional performance.

This qualification will equip the learner with the skills and knowledge needed to develop a
sound foundation in coaching principles and techniques and provide the organisation
with excellent coaching resources.

The programme is funded through the Apprenticeship Levy. The cost of the Coaching
Professional Level 5 Apprenticeship is currently £5,000.

A typical month on the programme will include:

  • Workshop work
  • Group or individual supervision
  • Work based learning and assignments
  • Coaching practice sessions with coachees and recording coaching logs, reflective
    reviews in a portfolio
  • ALM Coaching CPD – regular CPD activities events for qualified coaches and learners

What can a learner expect?

  • Gain new insights into how to develop their coaching and mentoring practice.
  • Understand how to review and build the context, strategy, culture and processes for
    coaching and mentoring, behavioural change and team and group coaching.
  • Critically review a wealth of new tools, techniques, skills and approaches and their impact;
    as well as their own communication skills, emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills and
    values, to assess their competence as a coach or mentor.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of human emotions, interactions and needs. This will
    improve professionals’ approach to relationship development and management, both
    internally with their teams and direct/indirect reports and externally with communities and
    other stakeholders.
  • Learn how to evaluate the effectiveness of coaching and mentoring.
  • To be challenged intellectually and practically in developing their practice whilst supported
    by skilled and qualified coach supervisors and likeminded peers.
  • A safe, supportive space in which to develop, using the latest thinking in blended learning.

  • Qualified and professional coaches who can implement and evaluate the effectiveness of
    coaching and mentoring in complex working environments at middle, senior and strategic
    levels in your organisation. Your coaches will make an invaluable contribution to the
    management and delivery of change in your organisation.
  • Assurance that your coaches and mentors are properly equipped with the skills, knowledge
    and ethical understanding they need to achieve the objectives and outcomes the business
    expects.
  • Helping to create / further embed a coaching, mentoring and positive change culture in
    which senior managers and leaders both internally and externally demonstrate their
    commitment to supporting their own and others’ development and performance
    improvement.
