Social Media and AI Workshop for Councillors

About the session:

Join our practical, two-hour online Social Media and AI Workshop for Councillors, designed to help elected members communicate with confidence while managing risk in an evolving digital landscape. Delivered by Hannah Lomax—an experienced public sector digital specialist who has supported councils across the UK for over a decade—this non-partisan session is grounded in the Nolan Principles and focuses on clear, respectful and responsible communication. The workshop covers key areas including AI tools, the Online Safety Act, handling online abuse, reputational risk, and creating engaging content that resonates with residents. With a strong emphasis on practical application, councillors will gain guidance on staying visible without crossing into electioneering, improving engagement, managing online challenges, and using simple content techniques such as tone of voice and short-form video. Suitable for all experience levels, this session builds confidence, reduces organisational risk, and supports healthier digital conversations between councillors and their communities.
