Free Access to the Local Government Workforce Capacity Metrics Survey for North West Employers Members
North West Employers is part of a national project which has created the ‘Local Government Workforce Capacity Metrics Survey’. This is an annual survey, accessed via an online portal supported by InfiniStats, which aims to help councils measure and better understand the capacity of their workforces to deliver services to their communities.
It also enables councils to benchmark areas of their workforce with other participating councils in our region, in other regions and nationally. Access to the portal has been offered for free to all members of North West Employers as part of their membership for 2024/2025.
The metrics for the 2024 survey are:
- Headcount and full-time equivalent (FTE) of employees
- Average age of employees
- Headcount in top 3 tiers of management
- Agency worker headcount and FTE
- Temporary employees’ headcount and FTE
- Average sickness days per employee
- Headcount of leavers
- Headcount of vacant posts
The survey incorporates key HR metrics collected by the LGA on behalf of DLUHC and the data collected will also be used for annual analysis by the LGA in a state of the nation style of report.
There is also an option for councils to upgrade to full membership of the InfiniStats HR Metrics Benchmarking Club which has a wider range of HR metrics, pay benchmark information and greater functionality to produce graphs/reports etc. This is an additional paid for service.
