Head of Communications & Engagement

We’re looking for a Head of Communications & Engagement to help us amplify our voice and strengthen relationships with our stakeholders. This is a brand-new role, so you’ll have the freedom to shape it and make it your own.

You’ll lead on crafting compelling narratives, managing our digital and social media presence, and designing campaigns that truly resonate. You’ll work closely with colleagues and partners to boost brand awareness and community engagement.

 

Job Title: Head of Communications & Engagement
Location: Salford (hybrid working available)
Salary: £39,152 (Grade 8) to £47,181 (Grade 10) pro-rata as part of Career Pathway
Hours: 21.75 hours per week (working pattern to be discussed)
Job type: Permanent

What You’ll Do

  • Shape and deliver strategic communication plans aligned with our vision and values.
  • Lead digital and social media campaigns that inspire and engage.
  • Create compelling content across web, email, newsletters, podcasts, and events.
  • Act as brand guardian, ensuring consistent messaging and identity.
  • Use data and insights to drive engagement and measure impact.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in communications, marketing, or PR.
  • Strong digital skills (CMS, SEO, Canva/Adobe Suite).
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and design skills.
  • Confidence in managing campaigns, events, and stakeholder relationships.
  • A proactive, creative mindset with a passion for engagement.
